Acadia Announces Closure

Iconic Hillcrest restaurant Acadia announced last night via Facebook that June 30th will be their last night in operation after 16 years of serving Little Rock.

Friends, Tuesday June 30 will be the last day of service for Acadia restaurant. I’d like to thank all of you for the tremendous amount of support we’ve had for a decade and a half. And to the people of the historic neighborhood of Hillcrest I am eternally grateful, I simply would never have gotten this far without the support of folks that make supporting small, independent establishments a top priority and it’s the reason places like ours will always thrive in one of the best neighborhoods in Arkansas. On behalf of myself and the Acadia staff, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Chef James Hale, Acadia.

The restaurant, located at 3000 Kavanaugh Blvd Suite 202, has been in operation since 1999 but has experienced a decline in revenue over the last several years according to A&P tax data despite very positive overall reviews. While our experiences at Rock City were limited we always found Acadia to be a very good spot to visit, including one of our favorite patios, just often overlooked in the hustle of dozens of other establishments vying for attention.
Chef and Owner James Hale recently changed up the menu, moving from prix fixe set up to a more traditional offering in an attempt to give customers more options and make better use of kitchen space.
Whether you enjoyed Acadia and want to try eat there one last time, or want to finally give it a shot we encourage everyone to try to stop in before next Wednesday to give them one last send off. Hopefully we will see Chef Hale and his cooking talents again in the city sooner rather than later.
