Rumbles: The Pizzeria Relocating, Skinny J's Does Brunch, kBird to Close Next Week

News
After a few months of delays, The Pizzeria at Terry’s Finer Foods is ready to move down the street. Co-owner Jacquelyn Pittman confirms The Pizzeria will close after dinner service on July 29 to prepare for the move to 4910 Kavanaugh Blvd., just a few doors south of the current location. That building used to be home to a pilates studio. The new spot will offer some much needed elbow room for customers and employees alike. It’s not known how long the move will take, though it’s safe to say the restaurant will be closed for at least a few weeks.
Speaking of The Pizzeria, its bartender, Dillon Garcia, will be one of six competitors Friday night at the second annual Preservation Libations Master Mix-Off competition. We have a preview of the event up now, including how you can get tickets and whose drinks you’ll be enjoying.
Capital Bar and Grill needs your help in a national James Beard competition. CBG has entered a “blended burger” online competition and needs your vote to win. Blended burgers have ground mushrooms mixed in with the meat, making them healthier and more sustainable. The top five vote getters will travel to the James Beard Foundation in October to be recognized. The contest goes through the end of the month, so you have plenty of time to help. Click here to vote for CBG’s entry.
I am not certain exactly how long this has been going on, but you can now get Sunday brunch in Argenta. Skinny J’s is serving up brunch specials from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The menu includes several versions of omelets and benedicts, with some classic breakfast items as well. There are also mimosas, Bloody Mary cocktails and several other beverages to enjoy.
The stellar Thai restaurant kBird is closing up shop next week. Owner Richard Glasgow didn’t go into detail about why, but says he won’t be open for lunch or dinner the week of July 25. That means, counting today, you have three days to get your Pad Thai fix before you have to wait until August.
Don’t forget, Rock City Eats Food Truckin’ Wednesday is tonight at First United Methodist Church in Bryant from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Come on out and get some great food from trucks like Hot Rod Wieners, Beast, Velvet Whisk and many others.
Eat My Catfish is now open for business in Little Rock. We stopped by for a First Look (and taste) of the new place in the Breckenridge Village Shopping Center.
If you haven’t seen it, you’ll want to check out the gorgeous looking new cocktail menu at Big Orange. The Jetson Spritz looks like a must-try drink.
And you’d have to be living under a rock not to hear about the Pokémon Go craze sweeping the country. We found the best local restaurants where you can enjoy Pokéstops and gyms in the Little Rock area.
