It’s always unfortunate when we lose one of our talented chefs or bakers, but for Lauren Harrison and her popular food truck, The Pie Hole, it’s time to move on and say “goodbye” to Arkansas. The next few weeks will be your last chance to visit The Pie Hole while it still lives in Little Rock. Lauren began serving from her truck in Little Rock in the spring of 2014, and has enjoyed sweet success in our city, whipping up some seriously good treats. But family obligations will mean moving to Texas, where Lauren hopes to continue to operate the truck and serve the pie-loving people of Dallas. The Pie Hole’s last day in Arkansas will be October 17th, and Lauren has dubbed this last month in Little Rock her “Pie Hole Farewell Tour” …your last chance to nab some pie while she’s still around.
Lauren has this to say to her pie-fans:
“As some of you may have heard, it is with very mixed emotions that I will be leaving Little Rock mid-October and, unfortunately, taking The Pie Hole with me. My husband has taken a position in Dallas and it’s an opportunity for us that we just couldn’t pass up! Having said that, I want to thank each and every one of you for your patronage, support and kind words over the last year. When I first moved to Little Rock, I was nervous and anxious about bringing The Pie Hole to a new, bigger city. But you all have been so welcoming and made me feel right at home. Little Rock definitely exceeded my expectations! Without each of you, The Pie Hole would not have been the success it has been. I also want to thank the many friends and business associates within our Little Rock food truck family – several of you took me under your wing and helped me so much along the way. I will be forever thankful to each and every one of you. My time in Little Rock has prepared me to move to an even larger city and, hopefully, continue on this path of success. Remember, I’m not going to be THAT far away, so if you’re ever in the Dallas area, look me up! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart – you will be missed!”
We’ll miss you too, Lauren. The food truck dessert options are, unfortunately, very limited in Little Rock, and Lauren’s departure leaves a large hole to fill. But we wish her the best in Big D. Follow her on Facebook for location updates and please go support the Pie Hole one last time before we say our final farewells.
